189. Posted February 9, 2010. Due to lack of experience, some speculators thought that with the war over, the Iraqi dinar would strengthen like the Kuwaiti dinar after the 1990-1991 Gulf War. But the Kuwaiti dinar was always a strong currency and the invasion there was short-lived, unlike Iraq.The United States government has been working on a plan to revalue the Iraqi Dinar since 2016. However, the plan has been delayed multiple times. The most recent delay was announced in 2019, and it is not clear when or if the revaluation will happen. Perhaps the rate will slowly increase against the US dollar.
