Or, if going melee with a wand, to boost AC/Saves. Turn 2: if you have a weapon implement, intensify for a net +4 to hit (+2 status and flatfooted enemy). Thaumaturge has a ton of great class feats too. I think this build works best in the rare campaign where you start at a fairly high level. You reduce the burden on ability scores and class feat tax substantially by either just picking up the Sentinel Dedication for a STR build, or using a DEX build and grabbing the Magus Dedicate + Raise a Tome.
